ââåbe Still and Know That I Am Godã¢â❠Art

The vi-Month Africa Immersion team is transitioning out of Rehoboth, Namibia, where they spent 6 weeks, and on to the small-scale agrarian state of Lesotho. Here are a few reflections and stories from team members during their time in Rehoboth.

Rachel Chick (above): "Since we get-go arrived in Rehoboth, Namibia, the peace of God has been put on my middle. Psalm 46:10 says, 'Be all the same, and know that I am God! I will exist honored by every nation. I will exist honored throughout the world.'Throughout our time in Africa, but especially in Namibia, God has asked me to exist still. When I am however, when everything stops for just a moment, I see God and all the work he has been doing. Past being still, I have seen him being honored—by nature and animals on the farms, as well as during the many youth services we accept attended. Sometimes nosotros spend so much fourth dimension trying to seek God, when all he wants is for us to be still."

Rachel Kosakowski (above left): "This last week I have been reminded of how potent and existent prayer is in our daily lives. I and so often accept for granted that I accept the Holy Spirit living inside of me, set to intercede on my behalf. I was privileged to be a office of several prayer walks where the undeniable presence of the spiritual realm was extremely powerful. Spiritual warfare is ever-nowadays here and we must be in tune with the Holy Spirit'southward guidance and promptings every day as nosotros go to battle for our Savior."Ã'Æ'‚Ã'‚

Anna Gainey (above middle): "I have learned about the silent growing relationships that build on uncomplicated matters of life."Ã'Æ'‚Ã'‚

Mary Kate Moore (in a higher place right): "2 big, beautiful brown optics looked upwardly into mine. The minor form-four daughter smiled upwards at me. 'Instructor, will you lot please be my mother?' she asked, grabbing onto my fingers. My center was overwhelmed with love, simply information technology likewise ached with sadness. This little one was longing for dear, perhaps because she does not receive it at dwelling house. We are all a lot similar this little girl, searching for love that this earth has denied us. But we tin find comfort in Christ, knowing that he holds our hand tightly. He is our Father who loves us from Heaven. I squeezed the girl's fingers, 'I will always dear you as if I were your mother.' Even in America."

Emily Garcia (above): "I woke up a bit earlier i morning time this by week to watch the sunrise over Rehoboth with my host brother. We fabricated java with far too much sugar for our ain adept and saturday on the stoop, waiting patiently. Every bit we sat quietly, the beauty of the soft pink and orange beams came pouring through the clouds, and as much as we tried to depict it, there just weren't any words that could capture what nosotros saw. It's moments like this when I reflect on how blessed I am to be here, living and learning amongst my friends and family. Time after time I'thou amazed at how God has placed me here in Rehoboth for and then many reasons, and I'm realizing more than than ever, equally much every bit God moves in big ways, he is moving in the whispers. In the times we least expect it, his easily are decorated at work."

Chelsey Morris (higher up correct): "2 Corinthians 12:9,10 says, 'My grace is sufficient for yous, for my power is made perfect in weakness. This is why, for Christ's sake, I rejoice in weaknesses.' Looking at my time in Namibia, all I can see are the ways my weakness has been completely dwarfed in the shadow of God'southward forcefulness. This has easily been the hardest role of this trip for me, but it is also the most certain I have been that God has me here for this exact time. Every time I experience like I have reached my limit mentally or emotionally, I am reminded that it has never and will never depend on my ability or on my force. I am not here to exist told how much I can do for Rehoboth, only rather here to be stripped of my pride and made fully dependent on God for every minute of every day. Information technology seems that after generations of planting and watering, by missionaries far braver than I, it might only be harvest time in Namibia. People are hungry for the truth, youth are looking for answers. The spirit is moving in Rehoboth."Ã'Æ'‚Ã'‚
